Before starting any commissioned build, I offer a project design service to help plan and refine your idea. This service covers the time and work that goes into designing a custom piece. Whether that’s a small cabinet, keepsake box, display stand, or other smaller-scale project.
Through this service, I’ll work with you to discuss design details, materials, joinery, and overall proportions to create a complete plan for your project. You’ll receive detailed drawings and measurements to review and approve before moving forward with the build.
The design service ensures that the project is thoughtfully planned and that I’m fairly compensated for the time spent developing it, even if the build doesn’t move forward. If you do decide to have the piece made, the design fee will be applied toward the total cost of the commissioned project.
About me
I’m Christian Ward, a woodworker from Utah. I got my start in my high school woodshop class and have been building ever since. Over the years, I’ve restored and collected tools, built up my shop piece by piece, and focused on furniture making and woodturning. I mostly build the projects I want to make and sell them when I can, with the goal of doing more commission work down the road. Woodworking has become a steady part of my life. It’s honest work, and I like it that way.
